Focus on foundations of balancing and moving on your hands. Class will begin with a warm-up that prepares the body to practice safely as well as teaches alignment and movement patterns needed in handstand shapes. We will practice techniques and drills around entering and exiting handstand, balancing, shapes and shape changes, and more depending on the level of students in the class.
Requirements: No handstand experience is required, but familiarity of basic yoga poses and their alignment will be helpful. You should be comfortable with the idea of going upside down and holding your body weight on hands and arms. If you are unsure, try this as a test: 1. Do down dog with your heels against a wall. 2. Walk your hands back a foot so your dog is a little short. 3. Walk your feet up the wall. If you can do this and still breathe well, you should be fine in this class.
